About Castle in the Clouds

Known as Miistukskoowa to the Siksika Nation, Castle Mountain stands close to the halfway point between the towns of Banff and Lake Louise. It is one of the most recognizable mountains in Banff National Park due to its castle-like appearance. On our recent trip out to the west coast, this was one of our first stops along the way. The clouds were breaking up and the sun began to peek through highlighting the rich ochre colours of the south-facing limestone cliffs. We managed to capture a few photos where the mountain seemed to be floating above the clouds nestled in the valley below dreamlike and surreal.
