About Elbow Lake Reflections

On the way to Edworthy Falls just north of the Highwood Pass hikers come upon the emerald green waters of Elbow Lake. On a calm day the surrounding peaks of the Elpoca Mountain massif reflect perfectly in the lake making it look as though the mountain is sliding into the water. The forest fires that were raging in the Northwestern States brought a hazy smoke-filled sky to the area. With the sun trying to break through the sky seemed to light up in colours usually unseen. In this piece, we amplified the sky we experienced while gazing across the lake for dramatic effect.
