With the reintroduction of the Plains Bison into Banff National Park, the ecosystem has regained one of its keystone species. To see these magnificent mammals in this environment makes one feel as though they have travelled back in time to the past century when bison roamed free. This scene captures the stark beauty of a harsh winter landscape as a bison slowly trudges its way through a high mountain meadow buried in deep snow.
Important note: Due to the dimensions of this painting, it will be removed from its stretcher bars and rolled in a tube to be shipped. When it arrives at its destination, it can be re-stretched by any local framing shop. If you have questions or need assistance with this process, please get in touch. The painting will remain stretched if picked up or delivered locally.
