The painting Road to Bow draws the eye along the stretch of the
Icefields Parkway as it descends gracefully toward the shimmering
expanse of Bow Lake. The roadway, painted in soft greys and muted
shadows, acts as a guide, pulling the viewer into the vast alpine scene.
Bow Lake rests quietly at the base, its cool blues reflecting the
surrounding peaks, while above, the Crowfoot Glacier dominates the
horizon with its immense, jagged presence, gleaming under a wash of
sunlight. The towering rock faces, streaked with centuries of
weathering, frame the glacier with both strength and elegance. There
is a sense of motion in the descent, a feeling of being carried forward
into the landscape, as though the viewer is traveling the road
themselves, moving closer to the timeless beauty of the Rockies..
